Why the quoted salary isn't the whole story
When a business offers a candidate a monthly salary, that number is only the starting point of what the hire actually costs. On top of the basic salary, employers in the Philippines are required to shoulder their own share of SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions, plus set aside a portion of the mandatory 13th-month pay every single month so it's funded when it's due.
This calculator covers only those mandatory statutory costs. It doesn't include optional costs like HMO or health insurance, de minimis benefits, training and onboarding costs, equipment, or general overhead — all of which a business should still budget for separately when comparing candidates or planning headcount.
