How SSS decides what you get

SSS is the government-run insurance program for private-sector employees, self-employed individuals, voluntary members, and Overseas Filipino Workers — separate from GSIS, which covers government employees. Every month, a percentage of your salary goes into your Monthly Salary Credit (MSC), the bracket SSS uses to size almost everything it pays out later: your salary loan ceiling, your maternity benefit, and eventually your pension[1].

That bracket is where most of the confusion starts, since SSS computes your benefits off the MSC, not off your payslip directly. Two people earning the same salary can land on different numbers depending on how their MSC history looks. The tools above exist to skip that translation step — plug in your real numbers and get the peso amount SSS would compute.
